Chinese Astrology - Mind Your Qi, Find Your Luck

E = MC2
Our emotion is equal to our thoughts which are within our power to change.
The mind is the control centre of change and we are the embodiment of energy which gives us life and this energy is our life force. In the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this life force is known as Qi and the way it flows within our body is influenced by our mind and likewise, our mind is also affected by it.
Since emotion is a form of energy, we can change our energy by the way we think and our thoughts lead the way for Qi to flow. In other words, where the mind goes, Qi follows.
If we are negative minded, it creates roadblocks that impede the flow of Qi and hold us back from taking action. By channeling our thoughts in a positive way, we unblock the flow of Qi so that our actions can produce positive result. This is because our mind is the control centre of Qi and by changing our pattern of thought, we are breaking down the unconscious barrier that forms our habits. Qi is transformative and the action we take represents such transformation. Our actions likewise become our habits which in turn become the driver of our behaviour. Over the long-term, our character is the result of our behaviour. Each step of the transformation from our thoughts to our character makes way for our Qi to flow in transit. Along the way, we can change our emotion by changing our thought or how we think.
In short, the fastest way to change our thoughts is to control our mind consciously. When we control our mind consciously, Qi follows our thoughts. In other words, the fastest way to change our emotion is to change our thoughts. This is reflected in the Einstein equation E = MC2 in which energy equals to mass multiplied by the speed of light to the power of two. Likewise, we have the conscious power to change our thoughts (M) in order to change our emotional (E) response to a situation. The other factor "C" in the equation stands for "change".

How does this equation ties in with Chinese Astrology?
There is a branch of study within Chinese Astrology known as The Four Pillars of Destiny. It shines the light on a person's character and how it leads the way to his or her destiny. By analysing the four pillars based on a person's birth chart which is derived from his or her birth date, a master can tell the character, the ability, the potential and the future of the individual. The analysis covers all aspects of life which include areas such as career, wealth, health and relationship. These are important factors that fall under the scope of destiny and by knowing who you truly are, you can go with the flow or change the flow of energy in your favour. This is where the formula E = MC2 comes into play. Based on the Four Pillars of Destiny (Ba Zi), the energy within you is represented by the stems and branches within the pillars and they define who you truly are, both consciously and subconsciously.

We are born on a given date which we cannot choose and we do not get to choose our family. This is our fate. Our life force comes into being based on the alignment of the stars and planets during our birth and it is governed by universal energy. And through this universal energy, we can make positive changes in our lives by tapping into our mind which controls our destiny. To put it simply, we have the power to change for the better.

Chinese Astrology - Unlocking the pathways to a fulfilling life

What is Chinese Astrology?

Chinese Astrology is not an exact science nor is it an abstract art. It is an esoteric science that combines with the art of metaphysics. It is a field that mystifies the intellect who strive to make sense of things based on logic and reason. The ancient masters of this craft studied the configuration of the stars and wrote intriguing classical texts on the subject. The classical books that held the secrets to the destiny of man were protected by the sages under the domain of the Emperors. Back then, whoever held the key to such knowledge and wisdom ruled the world. Such a control over this form of science and art became the Holy Grail in the quest for power.

Unlock your birth chart with four pillars of destiny and opens the doors to the life you want and live successfully!

The century age old practice of Chinese Astrology has its roots in China 2,500 BC. In fact, the most popular form of Chinese Astrology readings is based on the Four Pillars of Destiny which originated and was popularized during the Tang Dynasty in China.

The Four Pillars of Destiny also known as BaZi (Four Characters) is extremely complex and difficult for the lay person to grasp deeply. To the uninitiated, Chinese Astrology simply focuses on the characteristics of the animals in the Chinese Zodiac based on one's birth year. The twelve animals in the Chinese Zodiac comprises in running order, the rat, the ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. But a Chinese Astrology reading or BaZi analysis conducted by an expert would go much deeper than explaining the general characteristics of the animal signs. Each BaZi reading or analysis will delve into not only one's birth year but also the month, day, and hour.

The core of a person’s traits and characteristic as deciphered from a person’s BaZi birth chart interprets the day stem instead of the year branch in predicting a person's career, wealth, health and relationship. It forms the foundation of the Four Pillars approach which incorporates also the stems and branches of the year, month, day and hour of birth.

This is why a comprehensive BaZi reading or analysis that applies to the Four Pillars of Destiny method needs to takes into account the hour, day, month, and year of birth of a person. It is much more detailed and accurate than a generic reading based solely on birth year. It is not a field of study that anyone can take. This esoteric art pose to be quite complex for the general populace to comprehend. As such, embracing the intricacies of the Four Pillars of Destiny method and mastering the art of BaZi will take years or even a life time.

Therefore, a person who wants to learn and master Chinese Astrology needs a lot of patience and passion for unconventional knowledge or metaphysical art and sciences. It will teach you to look beyond the basic animal signs associated with the year of birth but the whole BaZi birth chart when understanding one's true character and destiny.

Feng Shui - Square shape is better

What shape of land is the most ideal from the perspective of Feng Shui?

The answer is square.

Based on Feng Shui system, a land that is square can distribute qi evenly. Qi is life force or energy in the environment. It is a natural phenomenon that energy finds it ways through the land in a slow, meandering or fast manner depending on the land shapes. A square shaped land contains qi that is spread out evenly through the four corners. The distribution and flow of qi is said to be even and balance. The next best shape is rectangular. Even though it is not as symmetrical as compared with a square shaped land, it still offers a somewhat balanced and optimal flow of qi.

Get the Life You Want with Feng Shui and Find Your Luck with Ba Zi by Alvin Yap!

A land that is irregular shaped will cause qi to flow haphazardly and unbalanced. For example, a triangular shaped land may be symmetrical but it has only 3 corners. When it is divided into 8 sectors, you will find each sector to be bigger or smaller than the other. Why 8 sectors? In accordance to Feng Shui principles, a property has 8 sectors or palaces which demarcate the different aspects of human existence based on compass directions.

When the sectors are not of the same sizes or some may even be missing after the division, a certain aspect of the property is negatively affected which corresponds to the health, wealth, career and relationship of the occupants. A triangular shaped land belongs to the element of fire. Such a shape tends to have sharp corners after division and make qi flow in a sharp and destructive manner, just like fire.

Whereas a square shaped land has 8 equal-sized sectors after division and it allows qi to flow in an organized and regular arrangement. The occupants will then be able to harness the land for prosperity and harmony based on Feng Shui formulas. This is provided that they build a square-shaped property on the land in compliance with Feng Shui’s principle of 8 compass directions or sectors. A square shaped property or land belongs to the element of earth. It naturally attracts earth energy.

Based on Feng Shui principles, qi comes in five elemental phases i.e. wood, fire, earth, metal and water. One produces the other in the cycle of production. A land that is shaped like fire will support a property that is shaped like earth.  This is because fire support earth in the cycle of production. If you have a triangular shaped land and not able to change it into square, the next best alternative is to build a property that is shaped like earth i.e. square. The land is then supportive of the property.

Other elemental shaped buildings and their associated elements are as follows:-

Long and tubular shaped – Wood
Round and dome shaped – Metal
Irregular or shapeless – Water

If possible, you should build a property that receives support from the land based on the elemental cycle of production. Overall, the most ideal shape of land and property is still square as Feng Shui favours it.

CHINESE ASTROLOGY - CONTROL YOUR MIND, CONTROL YOUR DESTINY

How many times have you lost self-control over an emotional situation that got you into trouble with others?

When you look back and examine the root causes of your emotional outburst, you will find that emotion played a big part in your actions and caused you to regret over it. The pain will haunt you for the rest of your life, one way or the other. This is because in the scheme of things, emotion complicates matters.  Upon analysis, it may not even be your fault or it is simply a misunderstanding over a matter that should not arise at all if we keep our emotion in check. However, this is easier said than done.

Our emotion is an element that is very strong and it lies deep within our subconscious mind. There are those who believe that logic is an antithesis of emotion. From a psychological perspective, there is some basis to it. Our logical faculty is controlled by the conscious mind whereas emotion is the domain of the subconscious. If we do not learn to control our emotion, it will control us.  This is when our destiny becomes enmeshed with our emotion and we find it hard to escape.

Our birth chart has elements that control us, positively and/or negatively. We are at the mercy of these elements if we do not know what to do with it. We are who we are by character traits and personality. By knowing our inner self and what drives us emotionally, we can learn to control our responses when confronted with a difficult situation. If we just go with our elements, a situation may develop into a problem.

Some motivational speakers believe that the quality of our lives depend on the quality of our communication. If we say, write or act in an incendiary manner in the heat of the moment, we let our emotions set the tone of our communication and connection with others. And when push comes to shove, our rationality takes a back seat to our emotion.  All senses of diplomacy and tact are lost in the battleground for supremacy of our viewpoints and opinions. This leads to arguments, quarrels, misunderstanding and broken relationships.

When we are controlled by the negative elements in our birth chart, we are driven by emotional energy that can only get stronger through acts of habits. This is why it is important that we control our emotion and not let it ruin our lives. Being human is complex in itself. There are emotions that strengthen us spiritually such as empathy, compassion, love, etc. There are also emotions that weaken us when we are not in control of it such as anger, hate, vengeance, etc.  And whether we are happy or sad, such emotions stems from our thoughts and how we perceive things in life. It is rooted in our mind. How we think on a conscious level affects how we emote on the subconscious level.

When we change our thoughts, we can change our luck and life. Our emotion is a game changer in our destiny and how we control our emotion decides how our destiny plays out. And our mind ultimately holds the trump card to win the game of life in our quest for success and happiness.

FENG SHUI AND CHINESE ASTROLOGY - CHINESE DATE SELECTION

In Chinese Methodology of Date Selection, a date is selected for an important activity based on the prevailing energy of the chosen day. If you are embarking on an important task or endeavour, you should consult the Chinese Tong Shu or Chinese Almanac.

The Chinese Almanac has its beginning more than 2000 years BC and its current version is believed to date back to the Qing dynasty.  It contains a plethora of things that relates to human existence on earth. Primarily, you can find various metaphysical materials such as Chinese Astrology, Feng Shui, Divination, Palmistry, Numerology and the like inside the book. But at the cores of the Chinese Almanac is a calendar that gives an outlook for the coming year and the auspicious and inauspicious dates to consider when you plan ahead.

In this day and age, the Chinese people still chooses a good date to carry out important activities. In Chinese Date Selection, a day or for that matter hour, can be selected to suit the activity in mind so that what you wish for is likely to come true. It is believed that if you have an important activity, you should do it when there is positive energy in the day and/or hour. An important activity that is carried out on a day and/or hour that is filled with positive energy can support what you set out to do.

Likewise, an important activity that is undertaken when the day is filled with negative energy can hamper your effort. The key is to select the day and/or hour with positive energy which synchronise with the type of activity you want to do for higher chance of success.

What are considered as important activities? Typically, the Chinese will choose a date (and hour) for business opening, product launches, renovations, house moving, marriage and even burial.

There are a number of date selection techniques. The ones that come to mind are 12 Day Officer, Xuan Gong Da Gua and the Grandmaster Dong’s Superior Days.

The 12 Day Officer employs a system that differentiates between auspicious and inauspicious dates which can be tag to the Gregorian calendar. The Xuan Gong Da Gua works with the person’s year of birth and harmonises its Da Gua element with the day in question based on He Tu Combination, Combination of 10 or Five Element combinations. The Grandmaster Dong’s Superior Days has its own system of date selection that emphasises on superior days.

In addition, most Chinese Astrologer will also look into a person’s birth chart known as Ba Zi to pre-empt any Personal Clash Days when selecting a good date. Typically, there are highly inauspicious dates to avoid regardless of the technique used such as Month Breaker, Year Breaker and Personal Year Breaker. Other inauspicious days that should be best avoided if possible are Master Killing Days, Four Extinct and Departure days and No Wealth or Impoverish Days.

The Chinese recommends selecting good dates for important events in our lives as we may never know how an event can set a chain reaction that lead to a certain future. Whether the future will turn out to be good or bad may just depend on the type of activity and the day we choose to do it.

CHINESE ASTROLOGY AND YOUR HEALTH

Do you know that a person’s birth chart can foretell about inherent health issues? In the system of Chinese Metaphysics known as Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM), the elements and animal signs can diagnose health hazards especially when it is combined with a reading of BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny).

In this article, we shall focus on the health aspects of Ba Zi which is derived from a person’s date of birth. Elementally speaking, the BaZi birth chart can tell whether an organ or body part is weak or strong. This is because a Ba Zi birth chart consists of five elements in their Yin and Yang polarity. There are also twelve Animal Signs within the Ba Zi birth chart. Together, the elements and animal signs are located in stems and branches within the four pillars of destiny.

A way to analyse the health aspect of a person is to analyse the BaZi birth chart with emphasis on the strength of the elements and their interaction with one another. The same principle applies to the animal signs. However, the animal signs also carry hidden stems and we need to take that into the overall analysis.

A Ba Zi birth chart that revealed a weakness in the water element can point to health problem relating to the kidney. A clash of the animal signs between the Rat and Horse in a Ba Zi birth chart can indicate heart ailment. However, it takes advance technique to ascertain if such indications in a BaZi chart will manifests in real health issues. There has to be collaborating factors that combined to give such inferences with due consideration to the person’s lifestyle and luck pillars. If a person is living a healthy lifestyle with proper diet and exercise, it can mitigate the unhealthy factors in the Ba Zi birth chart. An experience astrologer can also support his analysis by physical observation. For example, if he detects a weakness in the heart from the Ba Zi birth chart, he will also look at your face. If it is pale, then it is likely that your heart is weak.

But there are no certainties that any negative health condition unveiled in the BaZi chart will come to bear on person as his or her luck pillars can also make a difference. Luck pillars are the 10 yearly periods of a person’s life path. If a person is going through a bad luck pillar, it can precipitate in health problem during a particular bad year.
